Another Little Miracle

Seriously, I am so excited to see what the next months bring.  Because today we had another big moment.  Kate got dressed in winter clothes so we could go to the parade.  This is big because she hasn't worn a coat or snowpants this winter or last.  What is going on I say!!  So cool.  And at the parade she wanted to climb up the big snow piles and slide down.  Something she used to love to do.  She was saying hi to the kids and a little boy was struggling to climb up the snowbank and Kate offered the boy her hand.  Before today she hasn't really liked little kids so I was almost in tears watching her be so sweet to this boy.

We got home and I sneakily snapped these pictures of Matt and Kate playing outside for the first time in 2 years.

Glimpses

I will just do a quick post because I have some more packing to do.  We are leaving tomorrow morning!!  And today there is a parade at noon.

We are seeing so many signs in the past few weeks that show us it's the perfect time to be going to Brain Balance.  Matt and I just look at each other in complete surprise and enjoy all of these new things.  I will keep it brief, haha.  Basically, Kate has hated clothes and getting dressed.  She wears the same outfit everyday.  So it was huge a few weeks ago when we went to Kohl's and picked out a RED robe.  She wears it after swimming at the hot springs.

And last night, we were walking past some booths at the festival and I pointed out this hat.  She hasn't worn a hat in years!  Any kind.  She actually let me put it on her and then!!!!  She said she would like to have it.  It was $15.  Too much for this frugal Mama.  But, Matt and I were so surprised and happy that we bought it.  And the kicker is.... she actually wore it!

She said "Now people will KNOW I'm a wolf".

She still won't let me take her picture, but she let me take this.  She is sitting on the heater and her blanket is all puffed out around her.  She called me in from the other room and said in a sick voice "Mom, I ate too much last night.  It's a joke."  Ha!!  The sense of humor is coming back too!

At bedtime last night she asked how many weeks are in 3-6 months.  I told her and explained which months we will be gone.  I think she is still processing it, she only said "Oh".

There are other things, but they will have to wait!  Must get packing.

Everything is perfect

This is exactly where I keep my focus right now!! And when I forget, I bring my attention back.

Nothing needs to be fixed. Everything is unfolding perfectly. So when you stand in your now accepting that all is well, then from that vibration, you become surrounded by more and more evidence that all is well. But when you're convinced that things are broken, that there is pollution, or that things have gone wrong, or that the government is doing conspiracies... then what happens is you get caught up in that vibration, and you begin to manifest that kind of stuff, and then you say, "See, I told you that things were going wrong."

Another coupon!

I am so hoping that BB will take 2 coupons because Janae's friend went to the Zac Brown Band concert and picked up a $100 coupon for us!  AHHHHH,  EEEEEkkkkkksssss.  That is me, squealing with joy, I am so excited.  I think I have been saying that phrase way too much lately.  I'll have to come up with some alternatives:)

I love this forward momentum.  Things just keep getting better.  And we haven't even left home yet.

A big thanks to Janae and her friend.  Wishes for this goodness to come back to you!

Car, check

Items are being checked off the list left and right!  It feels good to make progress.  We went car hunting yesterday and found a car.  It's our PARTY car, whoot, whoot!  Matt especially likes it because of the gadgets and extras it has, who knew?  I haven't even driven it yet, haha.  It was raining and/or snowing yesterday all the way home.  I am glad I was in the truck!

My Goal

This is what I am doing when someone is upset or in fear.  I get lots of practice :)

:: The Art of Uplifting ::

Imagine you're watching a delightful movie on TV,
and you get a phone call from your friend, who is
watching a horror film on a different channel.

You don't mind that your friend likes scary movies,
but you're clear that *you* want to stay focused on
your happy story.

So you start talking about your movie, and after a
while your friend realizes that s/he would rather
be experiencing joy than fear, so s/he changes the
channel to the same frequency you're tuned to.

Now you're both "on the same wavelength"...
literally!  That's the art of *uplifting*.

So when you're feeling good, and your child is
upset, stay focused in your place of Well-Being...
AND stay fully Present with your child.

Make peace with the fact that s/he's upset, and
know that s/he'll be feeling good again soon.
Before too long s/he'll *choose* to change
channels from tragedy to comedy. :-)

Feel free to forward this message to your friends!

Our new apartment

I went to my class this weekend and decided to zip down to our new town to look at some places to live.  I looked at only two places that both would work!!!  I felt so lucky to have two choices.  So, I chose the one with more space.  It also has a washer dryer and lots of storage/hiding space.  It is not furnished so we are going to be taking our kitchen stuff, a chair, futons, tumbling mat, etc.  We don't need much.  The kitchen stuff is most important to me!  Here are some pics,  it is hard to tell the layout, but you get the basic idea.  When we get there in two weeks (Feb 1st)  I'll take some better pictures.  These aren't even of our exact apartment, but it is basically the same.

living room, the bedroom is also this size
galley kitchen

bathroom, not exactly like this but close

Pool, whoo hooo!
I am so happy to have housing taken care of!!  Now I can start packing all that we will need.  Two weeks will go fast!

The Assessment

From the Brain Balance Website:

About the assessment:

The assessment is a comprehensive test conducted to measure each area of function individually – motor, sensory, behavioral, academic, nutrition and autoimmune. Your child’s test results are carefully evaluated to quantify the severity of your child’s imbalance and determine whether the weakness exists in the right or left hemisphere of the brain.

Based upon the results of testing, we create a comprehensive, fully customized, in-center program consisting of exercises geared toward addressing their specific challenges. And, to build on progress made in-center we create a supplemental, in-home program including nutritional guidelines that you can easily implement to further your child’s accomplishments.

A date!

We set up the appointments for the assessment.  Each appointment is 1.5-2 hours long.  The sensory-motor part will be February 6th and the cognitive will be February 7th.  Then we will go over the results a few days later and a few days after that the program begins.

So, we are looking for housing so we can move in on the 1st of February.  Wish us luck!

details

We went to look for a car yesterday.  We need something with great gas mileage and reliable.  If it was summer, Matt could ride his bike to the store.  Since, it's not, we'll need a second car. Also, he needs to come stay with us!!  So, we are in the market for a good used car.

P.S.  We didn't get one yesterday.  Just started looking.

Plans, Plans, Plans

Since there isn't a Brain Balance center in our area, Kate and I(Eryn) will be relocating to so that Kate can attend this program.  The program is 3 days a week for 36 sessions, which works out to about 3 months.

While we are waiting to get the call about the assessment appointment we are busy thinking of all the things to wrap up here and things we need to get together.  What to bring, what to leave, housing, extra car, etc.  I know all of these things will fall into place.

I love that swimming is part of the program!! We are working on moving our bodies as much as possible during the day.  So, Kate and I went to the hot springs today.  I could get used to this!

Brain Balance Centers

We're off on a thrilling adventure!!  Another avenue to support Kate (formerly known as Little Blue Giraffe, White Horse, Silver, Jupiter, T-Rex, Ruby, and others) in reaching her fullest potential.  Diet, Supplements, Reiki/Energy Work, Chiropractic, NAET, Son-Rise, etc. has led us to our next step, Brain Balance.  We will be heading to a Brain Balance Center soon to begin a specialized program just for Kate!  YAHOO!!
