So, today was one of those days. I will just share the awesome parts. At Brain Balance Kate got another brain. She gets a paper that looks like a brain everytime she goes up a level or does something noteworthy. So, today she went up a level in making inferences. Yay, Kate!
Well, the last hour makes up for the whole rest of the day!! Kate asked me if she could take a shower tonight.! And even though it was 8:00, of course, I said YES! So, she showered until the hot water ran out. She scrubbed herself with a toothbrush that she has been cleaning various things around the house, but hey, she cleaned her own body. So, after the shower, I dried her jammy pants and asked her if she wanted to try on some shorts (boxer shorts). I also brought out a pair of socks, just because I saw them on the shelf. Well, she put the shorts on by herself and wore them AND the socks for about 10 minutes while I was reading the bedtime book. The jammy pants took about 30 minutes to dry and she was happy to have them back, but it was exciting that she parted with them for so long.
So, I guess that was my bonus for staying relatively calm and loving today despite the many opportunities to flip out along with Kate :)
