Babies

Today, I was thinking  about Kate when she was a baby.  Because we saw that her development was not typical, I think we were extra excited when she met new milestones or learned something new, regardless of when she did it.  It was so very exciting when she learned to walk.  We had been waiting for it for 19 months!!  And then all of a sudden she was walking.  What a thrill. 

Well, I am feeling those same feelings when she does new things each day.  I have always loved child development and watching kids grow and learn new things.  But this is especially exciting.  I get to watch as Kate goes through some of the stages of development that she missed or were experienced only partially.  It is as fun for me as watching toddlers explore or babies crawling for the first time.  I love it.
